SSI Specialty Courses
Submersus offers a wide range of SSI - Scuba Schools International specialty courses covering various areas of knowledge and techniques , allowing you to enhance your competence as a diver.
At Submersus you will also have the advantage of making this progression according to a DIR philosophy, which is an international holistic approach to scuba diving that encompasses several essential elements, including standardization of fundamental diving skills, standardization of procedures, true teamwork, physical conditioning, and standardized, simplified, and minimalist equipment configurations.


Scooter \ Tec DPV
ABOUT THE COURSE: In this scooter (Dive Propulsion Vehicles) course you will learn the skills and concepts you need to plan and safely execute dives using technical DPVs (tow-behind). You will learn the special precautions for using DPVs, how to maintain contact with your buddy and control your equipment, so you can safely enjoy the new experiences that DPV offers. Upon completion of this program you will receive a technical level DPV Diving certification and will be able to dive up to 30 meters with DPVs using a tow cord.

Enriched Air Nitrox
ABOUT THE COURSE: During the course you will learn the rules for the safe use of oxygen-enriched air at concentrations up to 40%. You will learn the physics and physiology involved in its use and practice the necessary protocols for gas analysis.

Navigation
ABOUT THE COURSE: In this ORIENTEERING course you will learn underwater navigation, procedures, techniques, planning, organization and resolution of potential problems when navigating underwater. You will also learn about natural navigation, navigation by underwater patterns, as well as estimating distances and using a compass.

Search & Recovery
ABOUT THE COURSE: In this course you will learn how to plan and organize Search and Recovery dives. You will learn about techniques, procedures, and troubleshooting potential problems. You will practice low-visibility techniques, learn search patterns that best suit a given search, and how to safely recover objects using lifting devices.

Equipment Techniques
ABOUT THE COURSE: This training is given in a workshop format and aims to provide an understanding of the operation of valves, taps, injectors, and regulators, as well as to learn about some industry standards (bottles, adapters, o-rings, etc.). During the training, the main repairs and maintenance of diving equipment will also be addressed in a practical way, such as BCD valves, dry suits, injectors, and the adjustment of the second and first stages of regulators.

Science of Diving

React Right
ABOUT THE COURSE: This course teaches the basic skills of providing first aid in emergency situations, how to perform basic life support (CPR), how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and how to administer oxygen in diving emergencies. It is a mandatory course as a prerequisite for the Stress & Rescue course.

Decompression Diver
ABOUT THE COURSE: This course aims to deepen your knowledge of decompression in recreational diving. With this knowledge, you will be able to dive to a maximum of 40m, performing a decompression dive of up to 15 minutes and using a maximum of 40% Nitrox as a decompression mixture. The course is conducted in a recreational setting.
