DIR SCUBA Skills Update
This Diving Skills Update Program is a practical and dynamic program aimed at certified Open Water Divers who have been away from the activity for six months or more and wish to return to diving with confidence, safety, and updated technique. More than just a review, this program combines reinforcement of fundamentals with an introduction to the Hogarthian configuration and the DIR (Doing It Right) diving philosophy, preparing the participant to dive efficiently and consistently as part of a team.
Through a compact format that includes a workshop, a confined water session, and two open water dives, the participant revisits the main concepts and safety procedures while learning to use a more balanced and rational equipment configuration than the conventional one. In addition to reviewing basic skills, the program focuses on understanding and using a wing-mounted BCD with a backplate and a long-hose regulator system, ensuring comfort and efficiency in its use.
Since many divers begin their training with different conventional configurations, this program offers the opportunity to transition to the Hogarthian style, understanding the logic and benefits of this standardized, minimalist system designed for teamwork. During the program, participants experience the use of this configuration in practice, adjusting equipment and diving skills in a guided manner.
More than just an update, the program serves as a gateway to integration into the Submersus diving club, giving you access to our outings and activities, ensuring that all members share a common technical foundation and a homogeneous diving style. In this way, we promote greater safety, efficient communication, team harmony, and team spirit.

WHO IS IT FOR?
This refresher program is designed for certified Open Water Divers who need to review their diving skills and/or wish to learn the basics of the DIR configuration.
COURSE PRICE:
The course costs 195 euros.

REGISTRATION:
How to register for the course? Follow these two steps:
FIRST STEP: If you have never taken an SSI course, go to the SSI website (my.divessi.com/), register by creating an account, and join Submersus. If you have already taken an SSI course and are not a Submersus student, go to the SSI app and change your affiliation to Submersus.
SECOND STEP: Fill out the form with your information and the program edition (check the calendar to reconfirm dates and times) you wish to take. Submit the form.
THIRD STEP:
Please make the registration payment according to the instructions sent in the confirmation email above.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Compact format that includes a theoretical workshop, a confined water session, and two open water dives, which can be in freshwater or the sea.
Practical sessions are conducted in a DIR (Hogathian) recreational configuration.
