Technical Improvement and Introduction to Technical Diving
XR Foundations is an intensive advanced diving course designed to solidify the foundations of a competent, safe, and technically prepared diver. It is widely recognized as the course that transforms the way you dive, focusing on precision of movement, underwater body control, and situational awareness.
During the course, the diver learns to master trim, buoyancy control, efficient propulsion techniques, and team coordination, all within the rigorous standards of the DIR philosophy. Classes combine theory, confined water practice, and real dives, ensuring that each student develops confidence and consistency in different environments and conditions.
Another highlight of XR Foundations taught by Submerssus is its focus on DIR (Doing It Right) equipment configuration—a standardized system that prioritizes simplicity, functionality, and safety. This approach allows divers to work in an integrated way, reducing errors and increasing efficiency in routine or emergency situations.
The XR Foundations course is also the entry point for advanced divers who have completed training at other schools and wish to participate in Submersus' activities and dives.
At the end of the course, students not only significantly improve their skills but also acquire a new diving mindset based on discipline, teamwork, and critical thinking. The XR Foundations course is the ideal starting point for those who wish to progress to technical diving, cave diving, or simply achieve a level of excellence in recreational diving.
REGISTRATION SSI XR FOUNDATIONS COURSE
PREREQUSITES:
To be an Advanced OWD or equivalent and have at least 24 logged dives.
COURSE PRICE:
The course costs 550 euros, and after completing the course and passing the exam, the certification costs 55 euros.

REGISTRATION:
How do I enroll in the course? Follow these two steps now:
FIRST STEP: If you have never taken an SSI course, go to the SSI website (my.divessi.com/), register by creating an account, and join Submersus. If you have already taken an SSI course and are not a Submersus student, go to the SSI app and change your affiliation to Submersus..
SECOND STEP: Fill out the form with your information and the program edition (check the calendar to reconfirm dates and times) you wish to attend. Submit the form.
You will then receive an email confirming receipt of the form. This email will contain the payment details for registration and other information about the course logistics.
TERCEIRO PASSO: Please make the registration payment according to the instructions sent in the confirmation email above.

SSI XR Foundations
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: This course takes place over 4-5 days depending on the logistics. The theoretical program is given in six theoretical sessions. Practical learning is based on three components: dry runs, pool sessions, and open water dives.
The course can be taken in a SINGLE tank configuration or in DOUBLES for those with more experience who want to prepare for technical diving. In either case, the course is exactly the same except for two practical exercises. Note that any student who takes the course in single configuration can upgrade to doubles configuration in the future, without additional instruction charges.
